Steury Trailerable Houseboat for sale in Des Moines, Iowa

Quality made Steury THE preferred houseboat manufacturer of their time; the competition forced Chris Craft to purchase and disband them. A quick Google search confirms this vessel is a unique, well-built, highly-coveted classic in the boating community--and one of the few boats whose value appreciates with resale. I have loved these boats since childhood. Regrettably, I am selling my 1972 Steury Trailerable Houseboat. She is 23' with an 8' beam, has a fiberglass tri-hull, and a 165hp I/O Mercruiser motor. She has a trailer and can launch on water or camp on land--or both. We used her for weekend land camping/fishing trips for kids as well river parties with friends. We had a slip for her the last two seasons at Saylorville. This season we kept her parked in our yard in Des Moines, IA on her custom trailer for a renovation. (It was overdue.) The interior has been gutted, much of the new framing has been done, and she is primed for the fun of remodel. I planned to do an open floor design with a beach theme, LED lights, and IKEA-type furniture; others may want to restore her to the original Steury Houseboat floor plan (Go to YouTube and search "1976 Steury Trailerable Houseboat" to see a great update which listed for > $20,000), or (Google "Hard to find 24' Steury Trailerable Houseboat w/tandem trailer" for pictures of another renovation with) a more contemporary look.
